Debbie Flannery was a sweet, kindhearted, divorced mother in her mid-40s, with two girls that were both off in college. She works as a social worker and she was absolutely heartbroken about how some of her cases were treated. For four long years she would go home and worry about this young black boy who she found to be sweet, intelligent and quite charming. Night after night, she would sit on the edge of her bed and cry wondering if Elijah was safe and being taken care of. After talking to her priest and her two daughters, she realized that she needed to step in to save Elijah to ease her worrying.
